What are the differences between standard and photo printers?
When buying an inkjet printer, you generally have two choices for color models: standard and photo.

A standard printer usually has a black cartridge as well as three individual color cartridges (or a single 3 tank cartridge) for color. The colors are Cyan, Magenta and Yellow.

A photo printer usually adds light cyan and light magenta cartridges to the above colors for better color reproduction. Some printers add even more color shades for even better print quality. This helps photos look as close to actual darkroom prints as possible.
