If I'm getting a Windows machine, should I choose the Home or Pro version of Windows?
Windows XP comes in two flavors: Home and Pro. Windows Vista has similar models. The question is, which should you choose?

While the Pro version seems like it might be better, the home versions are usually a better choice for most users. Not only is it less expensive, it contains nearly identical features to the Pro version.

Pro versions contain advanced features to work better with large computer networks and drives shared by many users. Many of the same features are available in the home versions, just on a smaller scale.

As a result, most users should go with the home version. However, the 64 bit versions of Windows Vista so far seem to offer better security. If choosing a system on a new computer, consider this option.
