Can DVD recorders play regular DVD discs?
In addition to recording and reading recordable discs, DVD recorders can also read regular DVDs and CDs. In fact, most internal computer DVD recorders can record CDs, as well. These same drives are usually able to makes use of re-writable CD and DVD discs. However, those types of discs must be "closed", or made non-recordable, in order to be read by a standard player or DVD-ROM drive.
