What are my HDTV options for cable TV?
HDTV choices vary among cable providers, even within the same company. For example, Comcast in one area, may not be the same in another.

Some cable providers offer a lot of HD channels, others offer none. No cable (or satellite, for that matter) provider offers every HD channel.

HDTV service is usually an extra item that adds a bit more to the cost of your bill. You'll need an HDTV cable box for your TV, many of which include DVR functions.

Most cable providers that offer HD service also offer the local channels for your market (if any are available). This is currently one advantage cable has over satellite, though not for too much longer. In addition, the HD video through many cable providers currently looks better than satellite (how much better does vary). However, the satellite providers are adding more satellite capacity, so this may potentially change.

Check with your cable provider to find out what HDTV programming they offer.
